Task 4: The Pitch

First did we discuss which genre we wanted to make the opening film in, and we all agreed to do Horror because we all found that most interesting and through the researched we had done did we found out that Horror also was one of the most popularly.
After we had chosen to do Horror were we playing with the idea that the location should be outside and have something to do with camping, but after some more thoughts about going camping in January could we easily see it didn’t make any sense. Then we tried with the idea that some school children in our age were going hiking with the school in a place where a spooky ghost story about an old woman who died in the same area as they were hiking, and then they would be taking one by one but after it was only an opening would that idea not be possibly not only because of that reason also because England don’t have any properly hiking areas, that we know of.
So we came with that idea that we’re going to do a Horror about a woman in the early 20tries who is a ‘sales woman’ there was called to a house about some insuring in the roof, but it turns out that the man who called the company was an old school mate of the woman and not a good friend of her.

Our movie is called ‘Do You Remember Me?’

Task 3 - Target Audience

In this task were we supposed to find out what our audience like so we know what they prefer to watch, when we are going to make our own film which we're doing in the genre: Horror.
We (Ellie-may, Natalie and me) made 10 question and 10 different people needed to full the question out. The question and the answers were;

Q1) What genre do you prefere ?
                Horror: 3 - Thriller: 3 - Rom-com: 4
Q2) Would you prefere a pre-title scene?
               Yes: 10 - No: 0
Q3) What setting would you find more interesting?
               Past: 2 - Present: 8 - Future: 0
Q4) Would you prefere a fictional or non-fictional film?
               Fictional: 7 - Non-Fictional: 3
Q5) Within the genre chosen would you prefere your antagonist to be young or old?
               Old: 5 - Young: 5
Q6) Is your ideal antagonist male or female within the genre you prefere?
               Male: 7 - Female: 3
Q7) What certificate film do you prefere to watch?
               15+: 7 - 18+: 3
Q8) What social class would you prefere to watch?
               Low: 3 - Middle: 3 - High/Posh: 2 - All: 2
Q9) Do you like background music within your film?
               Yes: 10 - No: 0
Q10) What type of music do you prefere?
               Incidental: 10 - Ambient: 0

Here are one of our anwser papers.

In our question research did we found out that people like Rom-Com a bit more than Horror and Thriller, but compared to the box office from ‘Statistical Yearbook 2011’ where it showed that there was made 31 Horror movies, but only 19 Romantic movies and 20 Thriller movies; but Romantic movies earned £58, 7 million - Horror £54, 1 million – Thriller £19, 3 million in 2010. That tells us that even though, there aren’t made so many Rom-Coms as Horrors, that the audience still appreciate Rom-Com more (because it sells more than Horror). This fits positively with what our answers said to our question.
7 people liked fictional movies more than non-fictional movies, but it was fifty – fifty between if they would prefer that the antagonist to be old or young in the chosen genre, one of the reason for why they would prefer old was because of ‘stereotypical view’ or another one ‘Old, because they tend to have more wisdom and are sinister’, but for young was one of the reasons: ‘I can relate to it’  and another one ‘because they are more athletic than the older generation’.
7 people would prefer the antagonist to be male instead of female, because it was more relatable.
Most people would prefer a movie there are 15+ because they know that the film would be more open, more action and more horror than a movie there are 12+.
